A Cupboard Cure For Cancer

"Extensive research over the last fifty years has indicated (this substance) can both prevent and treat cancer" - University of Texas.

What is this substance? This is not some dicey miracle cure that sets you back thousands of dollars and probably won't work. This amazing stuff costs nearly nothing and you probably already own some.

Ever wonder why hot dogs taste so good covered with mustard? Hot dog mustard contains no less that 3 cutting-edge cancer enemies. Maybe nature's trying to tell us something. I am not a big fan of hot dogs and as you may know, hot dogs contain chemicals called nitrates that may encourage cancer. But the mustard you slap on your franks is something else, an anti-cancer arsenal.

Yellow mustard contains these three cancer fighters, selenium, isothiocyanates and curcumin. All by itself, selenium may cut your prostate cancer risk nearly in half. Isothiocyanates, mustard seeds are packed with these good guys and they can stop the formation and growth of cancer cells. They could save your gut from big, bad trouble.

The big kahuna is curcumin, this is what gives ballpark mustard its vivid yellow hue. It halts the spread of breast cancer and makes chemotherapy less toxic. Researchers at the University of Leicester in England say it could even be a powerful weapon against hormone-resistant prostate cancer.

The research has a way to go and so far it's been mostly on lab animals. The point is that you can do plenty to curb cancer without ever leaving your kitchen. There are many other ways to get curcumin in your diet. Hot dog mustard doesn't contain nearly as much as Indian curry, and if curry is not your thing, curcumin supplements are available. Adhere to the recommended dosages though and don't over do it.

It may even help save you from Alzheimer's, colitis, Crohn's or even cystic fibrosis. Scientists are saying curcumin could help with all of these.

Some other bits of information, men, watch your calcium consumption. New studies show that men who consume lots of dairy have a 32% higher risk of prostate cancer, and calcium could be the culprit.

If you ever go for a cancer screening, there are few things to be aware of. You need to protect yourself with the facts, and one of the facts is that not all health professionals are created equal. There are the good and the not so good. Some health professionals are greedy and have exploited cancer fears and made billions of dollars in the bargain. They do this by using disease mongering, creating diseases that just aren't there. And cancer screenings are one way to do it. Lets not be naive.

For instance, cancers that will not kill you or will disappear are extremely common. Yet when caught on sophisticated medical screening scans, they will most often be treated aggressively, often resulting in expensive and dangerous treatments.

Another for instance, false positives, "spots" and cancers that will never harm you are extremely common. One prime example is thyroid cancer. Very few people die from thyroid cancer.

For years, a breast mass called lobular carcinoma in situ was treated aggressively, often with single or double mastectomy. Today, according to the Annals of Surgical Oncology, it is considered simply an "incidental finding." I wonder how many women have lost their breasts when there was no need for that to happen.

The best way to survive cancer is to use a phytonutrient therapy that treats the whole body, because cancer is always systemic, i.e.,
throughout the system.
