Why You Can Beat Cancer Survival Statistics

By Rita Dalian

Whether you think that you can, or that you cant, you are usually right -Henry Ford-

Cancer is a unique disease and the footprint of that disease changes according to your unique body and your unique environment. No two cases of cancer are exactly equal and that in itself makes a mockery of cancer survival statistics. Cancer survival statistics can be frightening, and at first glance they can induce a sense of panic.

Cancer survival statistics will always give the probability of what will happen. It can never give the exact number of years a cancer patient will survive, or what will exactly happen. As it portraits a picture of what you should expect, it never came out of the frame of probability. Remember that the desire of a person to live can make a big difference. It can beat the odds, if you believe it will.

The result of realizing that you have cancer is very fearful. This fear may turn to be depression, and so on. Just like the others who also felt that way, it is normal. But people who follow this path are the people who proves the probability of statistics to be true.

Fear is normal. But this is the best time to believe that there is something more important than fear... it's your life. You should not allow your fear to eat you whole and drag you to a depression. It is your life you need to defend, and the best way to do it is to know that you can survive.

Whatever you read or see about cancer survival statistics, whether it is a medical paper, on the television, on the radio, in a newspaper or on the Internet, does not mean that they have to apply to you. It is your body and your cancer and you are in control and the earlier that you exercise that control the better you will be.

Antioxidant Therapies - DMSO Infusions

By markus highland

The Origin

DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide and A. Saytzeff, a Russian scientist, developed this in the year 1866. This DMSO to an all-natural lumber industry bi-product. Since 1866 many uses have been found for this substance.

The first thing to understand about DMSO is that it binds itself to free radicals. When this happens they become neutralized. In today's world we know that these radicals cause numerous diseases and can actually speed up the aging process in the blink of an eye. What it comes down to is that DMSO tries to destroy free radicals which help the diseases take shape.

This DMSO has been utilized by Dr. Revici in therapies since the year 1960 and has had a lot of success with it. Patients are searching out the therapy offered by Dr. Revici for any number of health conditions because the traditional treatments have not worked. Over the year people suffering with different types of cancer, HIV, Hepatitis and other viral diseases, allergies, autoimmune problems, addictions, asthma and many more chronic-type diseases have been able to have better health through the therapy he gives. Dr Revici died in the year 1998 but luckily for patients Dr Kramer, his grand nephew, took over his business and today is still treating people.

How DMSO Works to Improve Certain Health Issues

Since DMSO does neutralize the free radicals in the body, it can help improves many health issues. As we have said these free radicals do cause health issues to occur such as cancer, problems with kidneys and the liver, arthritis, Parkinson's disease, autoimmune diseases, Alzheimer's and different types of inflammatory type diseases.

The whole idea behind DMSO is to increase the blood circulation to the body's organs. While you may think of just your major organs, this process works throughout the entire body. Even people who experience swelling problems and issues that come along with it (carpal tunnel), can benefit from using DMSO.

The process is one of the most intriguing things you will learn about DMSO. The way it works is DMSO will mix into the water each cell holds. When this happens, the majority of the toxins will be flushed out and allow your body to heal at a faster rate.

Anyone who has issues with their immune system will enjoy the benefits of DMSO. Thanks to proper blood circulation and the DMSO blending with the water in cells, you will find the healing process works for bacterial and viral type diseases as well. Ridding yourself of all these things will help slow down the aging process.

DMSO infusions are being used by doctors along with traditional-type treatments to get more improved results fighting against the conditions talked about in this article.

While DMSO by itself is helpful, mixing it with other substances can be very affective against cancer. It actually attacks the cancer cells and literally kills them. Just keep in mind that DMSO isn't used by itself in the fight against cancer, but is most often mixed with Vitamin C or Cesium Chloride during the process.

Conclusion

In the end if you are suffering from anything that doctor's haven't been able to heal, you should look into DMSO. Even if it means asking your family physician about it and getting all the material needed to make a strong case for yourself. There are millions of people who use alternative medicine to combat diseases effectively. Why wouldn't you want to be apart of it?

Early And Late Signs Of Lung Cancer

As with most cancers, the earlier you detect lung cancer the better your chances of survival. In fact, when it's caught in the first stages, there's an almost 50% survival rate after five years. This is a remarkable number considering the fact that overall, lung cancer has only a 15% survival rate.

So the earlier it's diagnosed the better.

And that's why being aware of the signs of lung cancer can mean the difference between surviving and becoming a statistic.

The Early Signs

Since the early signs of lung cancer can easily be mistaken for other conditions, it's often difficult to take them seriously. However, if you're experiencing a chronic cough that doesn't appear related to a virus or allergy, wheezing, chest pain, bouts of bronchitis, or a persistent fever ... it's time to pay attention.

Lung cancer symptoms are often related to the location of the lesions, which settle into the tissues of the lung first. That's why the early signs tend to reflect common cold, flu, and bronchial illnesses. Once the cancer moves beyond the bronchia, new symptoms arise.

The Later Signs

Once lung cancer has metastasize and moved beyond the bronchia, the signs can expand dramatically. For instance, if the cancer has spread to the brain, then common signs might include blurred vision, stroke, and migraines. As you can see, these are serious symptoms that could be related to any number of illnesses. The point is this: don't dismiss them.

In addition, signs such as depression, weight loss, fatigue, shoulder pain, difficulty swallowing, and hoarseness should be taken seriously.

When To See A Doctor

While you don't want to be running to your doctor every time you get the sniffles, if the above signs show themselves, especially if they're persistent, it's better to be safe than sorry. This is particularly true if you've been a smoker or are currently smoking, or if you've ever been exposed to asbestos over an extended period.

It only takes a few hours out of your life to make an appointment and visit your doctor. Here are the signs that should inspire action:

- Unexplained loss of weight
- Persistent shortness of breath
- Stubborn respiratory infections that keep coming back
- A chronic cough that has no apparent cause
- Pain in your chest
- Wheezing
- Fatigue (again, if it has no apparent cause)

The point to remember is that your immune system is busy fighting the cancer. This is why you may find yourself constantly run down and battling nagging infections. It's also one of the reason you may experience mood changes and irritability.

Conclusion

There is a caveat, unfortunately. Nearly a quarter of the people diagnosed with lung cancer never experience any symptoms at all. So while these lung cancer signs can serve as red flags, their absence doesn't necessarily mean everything is just fine. Another reason to see your doctor for an annual checkup.

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

By Laurette Langerstein

AML or acute myelogenous leukemia is a type of cancer that attacks the human body's bone marrow and blood. The blood cells inside a human body are composed of red blood cells and white blood cells, also known as platelets. Patients who suffer from AML have insufficient amounts of red or white blood cells; in some cases these cells are cultivated in an anomalous, usually reckless pace, which results to the progression and development of illnesses.

Current statistics show that in the USA, approximately 11,900 new cases of acute myelogenous leukemia are being diagnosed each year. Studies also indicate that acute myelogenous leukemia is not contagious or genetic; it usually results from exposure to the chemical benzene. Research further indicates that 65 is the average age of a person suffering from AML.

Benzene Exposure

A chemical compound, benzene is highly flammable and is a recognized carcinogen. Although its use in gasoline has been minimized, it has turned into an essential solvent for industrial purposes. It is used in the production of synthetic rubber, plastic and certain drugs. Exposure to benzene has been linked to the development of acute myelogenous leukemia and other types of cancer.

The health problems that may result from exposure to benzene are:

*Leukemia and other forms of cancer

*Development of anemia

*Dizziness and confusion

*Immune system functioning below normal

Symptoms of AML

Patients who suffer from acute myelogenous leukemia are commonly unaware that they have been exposed to benzene. This is exposure often occurs through accidental ingestion or inhalation due to the nature of their work, or in their immediate surroundings. Benzene exposure over a prolonged period of time can result to acute myelogenous leukemia and other fatal diseases, which are sadly oftentimes diagnosed too late for the fatal end-results to be reversed.

Patients who have acute myelogenous leukemia experience the following symptoms:

*Joint or bone pain

*shortness of breath and fatigue

*Infections that are recurring

*Swelling of the abdomen

4 Possible Cancer Risk Factors

Cancer is a disease that causes the process of cell division to go wrong in the body ultimately leading to the formation of a cancerous tumour. Although we know how cancer develops we do not know what triggers the cancerous growth. However, there are certain risk factors associated with it. In this article I will be discussing four of these possible cancer risk factors in greater detail.

1) AGE:- As discussed above, cancer develops when the process of cell division malfunctions. The older we get the more times our cells have divided meaning there is more opportunity for something to go wrong. Furthermore, the older we get the more times our body's cells release DNA damaging by products that can disrupt the process of cell division. Therefore, age acts as a cancer risk factor.

2) EXPOSURE TO CARCINOGENS:- Carcinogens are substances that are directly involved in the promotion of cancer. They can be found in; asbestos, car exhaust fumes, tobacco smoke (which contains over 70 carcinogens) and radiation. Therefore, people who are heavily exposed to these substances (such as heavy cigarette smokers) have an increased cancer risk.

3) POOR DIET:- Research suggests that certain foods can protect you against cancer. For example, fruits and vegetables contain a number of powerful anti-oxidants that can protect your cells from damage. Therefore, by eating a poor diet that is devoid of these nutrients you increase your risk of contracting cancer.

4) SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE:- Research has shown that there is a strong link between exercise and cancer risk. The more exercise you do the less likely your chances of developing cancer appear to be although it is not known exactly why. In a study of 40,000 men by Cancer Research UK those who walked or cycled for an hour a day were 16% less likely to get cancer. Therefore, people who lead an inactive, sedentary lifestyle have a greater chance of getting cancer.

Although no one is sure exactly what causes cancer to develop, research has identified the above as definite risk factors. Whilst aging cannot be controlled if you stay away from carcinogens, eat the right foods and exercise regularly you can significantly reduce your chances of contracting cancer.

Whilst every intention has been made to make this article accurate and informative, it is intended for general information only. Cancer is a very serious, life threatening condition and you should discuss any concerns, treatments or lifestyle changes fully with your doctor.
